A hot night in PDX

After a couple months off for recovery from the big birthday gig we got back on the proverbial horse for a night of rock. The horse however appeared to have found a mirage somewhere on the way to the gig and left us humping it all alone in the sweltering evening heat. No worries though, as our faithful wait staff kept us hydrated with a potent concoction of bourbon, beer and lots and lots of water. We prevailed, however the pits of our shirts will forever bear the scars of a night better left to sitting poolside in an air conditioned cabana somewhere far south of this fair city we call home.

Special props to The Lion for the addition of the groovy new disco lights. Trippy, man…

Happy Birthday? Oh hell yes.

Thanks to all who came out and cheered me into my 40′s. Special shout outs to Valerie and pals, Miss P and especially to Richard at The Thirsty Lion for the delicious voodoo donuts cock and balls. It takes a good man to give another man a gift like that. 40 For The Win!

Late, yes. Awesome, you bet.

It’s not as if we haven’t been playing, but we’ve doing a string of Friday’s and for some reason the motivation hasn’t been there to post pictures of beautiful people at 3am on a Friday. Or is that a Saturday? Anyway, here’s a preview for what’s going to happen in about 29 hours. Please stand by.

I think I like the last one the most- it’s as if she can sense a hand approaching at high velocity from behind even though she can’t see it, and he’s about to get his ass kicked…

Look ma, we’re on the you tubes…

Granted, someone showed up with a camera to the gig that we’ve come to refer to as “the trainwreck,” but impressions are impressions. The good news is it doesn’t sound nearly as bad as it felt. Wait, did I just say that out loud?

Biggest. Room. Ever.

We had the pleasure of playing a show at the Portland Art Museum this weekend in a room that was custom made for spoiling us. I’m not sure how big it actually was, but it felt like we were real rock stars for a night. The green room was an extra special bonus (usually we have to just wait around in the bathroom or outside until somebody comes and tells us it’s show time).

The show was actually an auction to raise money for Ainsworth Elementary School in Portland, and by all accounts they raised some serious capital. I hope our drink money goes toward a few amenities for the children. My liver would feel so much better about its’ current state knowing that some wonderful youngster got to learn a thing or two at its’ expense.
